For my Gold Award project, I combined my love for art and service by creating custom artwork and support materials for a local cat shelter in Lake Highlands. This project was incredibly special to me, as it allowed me to give back to my community while growing as a leader and creative.
I painted a series of original art pieces to hang throughout the shelter's office, adding warmth and personality to the space. I also designed and made handcrafted cat toys to enrich the shelter’s collection and provide comfort to the animals. In addition, I organized and hosted a donation drive, collecting essential supplies that were donated directly to the shelter's Cat Care Center.
Through this project, I learned valuable skills in project management, community outreach, and creative problem-solving, and most importantly, I saw firsthand how small acts of service can make a big impact.
